Overview

Many people have heard of "The Road to Hana," which is a well known route that connects Kahului (Northern Maui) to the town of Hana in East Maui. The stretch of road has been described as one of the best drives in the world, and includes 620 curves, 59 bridges and a number waterfalls and other scenic points worth visiting.

Beyond the town of Hana is what is known as "The Backside of Haleakala," or South Maui. This second half of the Hana highway opens up to a incredible view of Haleakala summit and its slope all the way down to the Pacific.
