Overview

My Ed Fella publication is the solution to a design project with the goals of becoming better familiarized with a designer, creating a unique visual direction and improving research strategies. The deliverables consisted of a body of research on our chosen designer, and development of a design that best represents the designer and content.

 

I chose Ed Fella, a designer, artist and educator from Detroit, to create my project on. Fellas design style is unique in that he often hand draws his typography and works in an illustrative fashion. He is also known for his “No Style, Style" where he deviates from traditional design rules and approaches. Having an illustration background, I felt this could be beneficial to research and implement throughout my solution.

My key take-away from this design piece was the in-depth research process and learning to allow the content to help inspire the visual direction and design elements of the project.
